NOSEY NEIGHBORS AND SNOOPING RELATIVES; time spent on someone else is time lost on your pursuits, yo: going to the right person, first

“Yeah”, Bilta replies as he grabs another hotdog off the grill, “I agree that a mechanic is best to fix a car; a dentist to repair a tooth, yo.”

I sigh.

“There you go!”, I continue speaking as I dip my hotdog into the ketchup, “you are not having success because you are going to the wrong person–consider who is best served to answer your question.”

“I want to learn to surf better”, he replies as he takes a bite of his hotdog, “that´s why I´m asking you.”

“I understand that I am the best–all the same, you need to go to a teacher.  Someone who has experience, not just in the act, but showing people how it is done.  The best thing that you can do is learn the skill from someone who is qualified–you don´t want to just willy-nilly mess around with it.  There´s like sharks and shit–I know that you remember shark.quest #5.  You can´t just free roam around there without guidance.”

“I have been messing around in my free time to learn to surf”, Bilta replies as he grabs another hotdog, “I´ve gotten better.”

“Doubtful”, I respond as I roll my eyes, “you can´t work hard to success–you need to learn to surf well.   It´s not an issue of energy spent–it´s putting your eggs in the right basket.”

“I don´t have a basket, yo.”

“It´s a figure of speech”, I reply as I grab a scoop of potato salad, “you want to learn where to put your effort and how to be more effective.  You can spend all your time pushing a boulder up a hill, only to have it roll back down.  Learn how to surf from a professional, yo.”

“Are you a professional surfer, yo?”

“While incredibly handsome with a sexy smile, no–I am not a professional surfer.  This is why you need a teacher–go to the best to become the best.  If you take shortcuts and half-ass your learning, you won´t get anywhere or very far.  You only get as far as you go–you skimp in the beginning and you won´t win.  Start in the right place; start with the right person; start doing the right thing, yo.”

“I want to start a cafe”, digital.Bilfty2.1 replies as he turns to look at the band playing, “I think that I would be good.”

“If you want to start, start; if you want to try, then try–desire proceeds accomplishment.  You have to want it before you receive it–you have to go for it before you arrive.  You can´t get to the finish line if you don´t leave the starting blocks; when the race starts, in life, is, really, up to you.  You don´t have to go this moment–but go, sometime, somewhere, to do something.  That´s all life, and success, is, really, yo.  You somewhere doing something.”

“Why are you so smart, yo?”

“I repeat”, I reply as I dip my hotdog in the ketchup, “I am very attractive with a sexy smile–it goes far.”
